Reading is the single most important skill a child needs. Yet many children lack access to books, especially books of their own. That’s why Bernie’s Book Bank works so hard to provide eight free quality books annually to children in under-resourced communities to build personal libraries. We believe that literacy is not a luxury and that children can read their way to a better life. With the help of hundreds of volunteers and donors each year, Bernie’s Book Bank is transforming children’s stories. We’ve developed a model that is effective, efficient, scalable and sustainable, allowing us to source, process and distribute for less than $2 per book, all-in.
